China-Laos Railway carries 244,000 cross-border passengers in first eight months

2026年前8个月，中老铁路累计开行国际旅客列车972列，发送跨境旅客24.4万人次，同比增长超过50%。

In the first eight months of 2026, the China-Laos Railway operated 972 international passenger trains and carried 244,000 cross-border passengers, up more than 50 percent from the same period of 2025.

自2023年4月13日中老铁路国际旅客列车开行以来，昆明至老挝万象实现当日通达，跨境出行“朝发夕至”逐渐成为常态。

Since international passenger services began on April 13, 2023, same-day travel between Kunming and Vientiane has become a reality, and morning-departure, evening-arrival cross-border journeys have increasingly become the norm.

目前，昆明南至万象每天开行4列国际旅客列车，最快9小时36分可达。跨境旅客席位已由开通初期的250个增至420个，出入境客流由每天约300人次增至最高1640人次。

Four international passenger trains now run daily between Kunming South Railway Station and Vientiane, with the fastest journey taking nine hours and 36 minutes. Cross-border seats have increased from 250 at the launch of the service to 420. Daily entries and exits have risen from about 300 in the early days to a peak of 1,640.

截至9月7日，中老铁路累计开行跨境旅客列车3789列，发送来自120多个国家和地区的跨境旅客92.6万人次。

As of September 7, the railway had operated 3,789 cross-border passenger trains, carrying 926,000 travelers from more than 120 countries and regions.

针对持续增长的跨境客流，国铁昆明局持续优化运输服务保障。在西双版纳、普洱等车站及国际旅客列车上提供中文、老挝语和英语三语服务，并在重点区域安排客运人员加强引导；同时设置重点旅客专用窗口，配备轮椅、常用药品等便民物品，为旅客提供便利。

To meet the growing cross-border passenger flow, China Railway Kunming Group has continued to improve transport services. Chinese, Lao and English services are available at stations including Xishuangbanna and Pu’er, as well as aboard international trains. Additional staff have been deployed in key areas to guide passengers, and dedicated counters have been set up for passengers requiring assistance, with wheelchairs and commonly used medicines provided.

今年暑运期间，磨憨铁路口岸累计查验来自全球72个国家和地区的出入境人员5.7万余人次，同比增长超过51%，单日旅客通关峰值突破1100人次。

During this year’s summer travel rush, the Mohan railway port handled more than 57,000 inbound and outbound travelers from 72 countries and regions, up more than 51 percent year on year. Daily passenger clearance peaked at more than 1,100.

随着跨境旅游、研学旅游和商务出行持续升温，沿线景区、酒店、餐饮等产业消费增长超过35%。中老铁路正凭借高效便捷的跨境运输服务，进一步促进区域人文交流与经贸合作。

As cross-border tourism, study tours and business travel continue to grow, consumption at scenic spots, hotels and restaurants along the route has increased by more than 35 percent. With efficient and convenient cross-border transport, the China-Laos Railway is further promoting people-to-people exchanges and economic and trade cooperation in the region.
