2026年8月20日17时40分，柬埔寨警方对位于奥多棉吉省安隆汶县安隆汶乡O Chanchean村的一处出租屋开展突查，破获一起涉嫌贩卖、持有及非法使用毒品案件，共抓获4名嫌疑人，查获18包冰毒（总重0.00233公斤）、1辆摩托车、2部手机以及一批吸毒工具。

At 5:40 p.m. on August 20, 2026, Cambodian police raided a rented house in O Chanchean Village, Anlong Veng Commune, Anlong Veng District, Oddar Meanchey Province, uncovering a case involving the alleged trafficking, possession and illegal use of drugs. Police arrested 4 suspects and seized 18 packets of crystal methamphetamine (ICE; total weight: 0.00233 kilograms), 1 motorcycle, 2 mobile phones and a quantity of drug paraphernalia.

柬埔寨将举办打击网络诈骗国际会议
9月23日至24日，柬埔寨政府将在金边举行打击网络诈骗国际会议。会议呼吁各方通过区域合作打击网络诈骗犯罪集团头目。会议将有来自16个国家的部长级领导人、14个国家的高级技术官员以及6个国际组织的代表参会。

Cambodia to Host the International Conference on Combating Online Scams
From September 23 to 24, the Cambodian government will host the International Conference on Combating Online Scams in Phnom Penh. The conference will call on all parties to strengthen regional cooperation to combat the ringleaders of online scam criminal groups. Ministerial-level leaders from 16 countries, senior technical officials from 14 countries, and representatives of 6 international organizations will attend the conference.
The conference will focus on regional and global responses, the application of technology, prevention, and cyber resilience. It is expected to produce an outcome report and establish a cooperation framework covering information sharing, law enforcement, victim protection, and responses to cyber-enabled transnational crime.
A Cambodian researcher said hosting the conference demonstrates Cambodia’s commitment to combating online scams. The researcher noted that Cambodian authorities should take domestic measures to combat online scam activities while further strengthening cooperation with international partners.

Hong Kong Customs Cracks Two Passenger Drug Trafficking Cases, Seizes 38kg of Ketamine
On August 25, Hong Kong Customs cracked 2 cases of passenger drug trafficking at Hong Kong International Airport within 1 day, seizing about 38 kilograms of suspected ketamine, valued at approximately 15 million HKD (approximately 1.92 million USD), and arresting 3 people.
In the first case, a 51-year-old local Hong Kong woman and a 26-year-old local Hong Kong man flew to Hong Kong from Rome, Italy. During customs clearance, about 36 kilograms of suspected ketamine were found in their suitcase.
In the second case, a 40-year-old male mainland passenger flew from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Hong Kong. During customs clearance, customs officers discovered about 2 kilograms of suspected ketamine in the compartment of his suitcase .

Myanmar Arrests 3 Foreign Suspects Involved in Online Scam in Northern Shan State
On the morning of August 26, a Tatmadaw column in Myanmar arrested 3 Chinese nationals who had illegally entered the country and were suspected of engaging in online fraud and gambling activities, in Mong Yai Township, northern Shan State, about 26,000 meters southeast of the township and about 5,000 meters south of Manphai Village. Seized items included 1 building, 5 temporary tents, 25 mobile phones, 5 all-in-one computers, 2 power stations, 1 Starlink device, 10 walkie-talkies, and other equipment related to the criminal activities.

Thai Police Bust Drug-Linked Cross-Border Online Scam and Money-Laundering Ring, Arrest 3 Suspects
On August 25, Thai police arrested three suspects accused of involvement in cross-border online fraud, money laundering and drug-related criminal offences. Officers seized crystal methamphetamine, ketamine, 50,000 THB (approximately 1,530 USD) in cash and two mobile phones. Investigators found that the criminal network operated a scam base in Myanmar and used fake advertisements for go-karts and other products to induce victims to transfer money into mule accounts. Cash withdrawal operatives in Thailand then withdrew the proceeds in multiple transactions, redeposited the funds and converted them into gold for laundering.

Thai Police Bust Drug Gang, Seize 2.89 Million Methamphetamine Pills and 260 Kilograms of Ketamine
On August 25, Thailand’s Border Patrol Police, military personnel and other authorities conducted a drug enforcement operation in Chiang Rai Province, arresting four suspects and seizing 2.89 million methamphetamine pills and 260 kilograms of ketamine. Acting on intelligence about drug shipments from the border, officers first intercepted one suspected courier carrying the methamphetamine pills. They then searched a commercial building as part of the follow-up investigation, arrested 3 additional suspects and seized the ketamine.

泰国破获跨境偷渡团伙

Thailand Busts Cross-Border Human Smuggling Ring
On August 25, Thailand’s Immigration Bureau dismantled a cross-border human smuggling network and arrested two Thai ringleaders. The gang charged 65,000 THB (approximately 1,890 USD) per person to smuggle Chinese nationals from Cambodia via Thailand into Malaysia to engage in telecom-network fraud. Police detained 6 Chinese nationals and 1 Myanmar national, and seized more than 20 mobile phones at a resort in Na Mom District, Songkhla Province.

Ha Tinh Police Arrest Ringleader of Transnational Fraud, Human Trafficking Ring
On August 26, police in Ha Tinh Province announced that, together with Lao authorities, they had arrested the ringleader of a transnational fraud and human trafficking ring. Operating in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone in Laos, the ring used social media accounts impersonating wealthy people and cultivated romantic relationships to lure victims into investing through the OYO app and defraud them. The ringleader had been on a special wanted list.
