Cambodia Poipet Conducted Scam Raids, 9 Suspects Arrested
On August 22, law enforcement authorities of Banteay Meanchey Province conducted raids on nine residential premises in Poipet City. A total of 87 foreigners including 76 Thais, 8 Chinese nationals and 3 Indians were questioned, 9 of them were detained for lacking valid identity documents.

香港警方捣破屯门“双单位”毒窟 首揭“毒水浸衣”藏毒手法
香港警方毒品调查科近日展开“捍卫者”反毒行动，在屯门捣破一个毒品仓库及一个制毒工场，检获市值约920万港元的各类疑似毒品，拘捕3名19至26岁男子。
8月22日，警方在福亨村附近截查3人，并在一处村屋检获约14公斤怀疑氯胺酮、约2公斤怀疑海洛英及151粒怀疑依托咪酯烟弹。其后搜查附近另一单位，发现约40公升液态氯胺酮原料，可提炼约6公斤氯胺酮。
警方称，这是首次发现集团把氯胺酮溶于液体并浸泡衣物，企图伪装成普通行李规避截查的运毒方式，3人涉嫌贩运及制造危险药物受逮捕。

Hong Kong Police Dismantle Twin-Site Drug Operation in Tuen Mun, Uncover Drug-Soaked Clothing Method
Hong Kong police dismantled a drug warehouse and a manufacturing site in Tuen Mun, seizing suspected drugs worth about HK$9.2 million and arresting three men aged 19 to 26.
On August 22, in a village-house unit, officers found about 14 kilograms of suspected ketamine, two kilograms of suspected heroin and 151 suspected etomidate vape cartridges. A second unit held about 40 litres of liquid ketamine material, estimated to yield six kilograms of ketamine.
Police said the syndicate dissolved ketamine in liquid and soaked clothing to disguise it as ordinary luggage—a method encountered for the first time. The suspects were arrested for alleged drug trafficking and manufacturing.

Laos Hands Over 145 Chinese Nationals Linked to Telecom Fraud and Illegal Entry
On August 20, the Bokeo Provincial Public Security Department handed over 145 Chinese nationals suspected of violating Lao law to Chinese authorities at the Boten-Mohan border crossing between Laos and China. Of those transferred, 136 were suspected of involvement in call centre-based telecom fraud, including 3 women, while the other 9 were suspected of entering Laos illegally.

Lao Police Arrest 3 Suspects in Drug Trafficking Case in Savannakhet
On August 18, police in Kaysone Phomvihane City, Savannakhet Province, acting on information from the public, arrested a suspected drug dealer at a local guesthouse and seized 1,302 methamphetamine tablets. Investigators subsequently traced and arrested 2 other suspects.
Police seized a total of 53,302 methamphetamine tablets, 49 sachets of coffee containing addictive substances, a SIG Sauer P320SP handgun, 12 rounds of ammunition, cash, mobile phones and other case-related items.

Myanmar Police Raid in Muse, Northern Shan State, Arrest 20 Suspects
At around 4:30 p.m. on August 23, Myanmar’s security forces conducted a search at a house in Kaunghmuton Ward, Kaungmulwe area, Muse, and arrested 20 suspects allegedly involved in online scams and illegal gambling activities, including 1 Chinese male who entered the country illegally, 17 Myanmar males and 2 Myanmar females. Authorities also seized 77 mobile phones, 3 all-in-one computers, 1 laptop, and other related equipment.

Myanmar Police Seize Drugs Worth 570 Million Kyats in Yangon
At 10:00 p.m. on August 22, Myanmar police stopped a vehicle in Saya San Ward, Bahan Township, Yangon, and seized the following drugs:
· 1,000 ATS tablets (worth 50 million kyats, approximately 23,810 USD)
· 2.5 kg of ketamine (worth 150 million kyats, approximately 71,429 USD)
· 5.75 kg of Happy Water (worth 345 million kyats, approximately 164,286 USD)
· 250 vape cartridges containing Happy Water (worth 25 million kyats, approximately 11,905 USD)
The total value of the seized drugs is approximately 570 million kyats (approximately 271,000 USD). Police also seized 1 mobile phone and arrested a 31-year-old suspect.

Transnational Drug Trafficking Gang Arrested in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand
On August 22, Thai border patrol police tracked a transnational drug trafficking gang based on intelligence and arrested six suspects at a resort in Nakhon Phanom Province. Approximately 3 million methamphetamine pills, two vehicles and eight mobile phones were seized at the scene. According to reports, the suspects confessed they were hired by a Lao financier to collect narcotics along the Mekong River. The drugs were to be temporarily stored in Udon Thani before being transported to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya for distribution.

Thai Police Arrest Chinese Fraud Suspect Linked to Over CNY 1.4 Billion in Losses
On August 24, Thai immigration police arrested a Chinese national wanted by Chinese authorities in Chiang Mai Province. Investigators found that the suspect allegedly defrauded more than 3,000 Chinese victims through fraudulent fundraising, causing losses of more than 1.4 billion CNY (approximately 208 million USD), before fleeing to Thailand. Thai Police Seize 3 Million Methamphetamine Pills in Chiang Mai
On August 22, Thai police conducted a drug enforcement operation in Fang district, Chiang Mai Province, and seized 3 million methamphetamine pills. Acting on intelligence, officers found that suspected drug traffickers had driven into a local village before abandoning their vehicle and fleeing. The Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines Rescues 8 Filipino Nationals Allegedly Recruited Through “Catfishing”
On August 7, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) of the Philippines intercepted 8 Filipino nationals at Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila who were allegedly recruited by a criminal group through “catfishing” and were planning to travel to Indonesia via Malaysia.
Further investigation found that the passengers had actually been invited to work in Indonesia as customer service representatives, with a promised monthly salary of 1,000 USD to 1,500 USD. The Bureau of Immigration said the case showed that the “catfishing” recruitment modus remained active and continued to pose risks to Filipino nationals, particularly those vulnerable to attractive overseas job offers.
